Apple doesn’t care about privacy. Apple cares about one thing: money. Their first advertising platform failed to take off, so they turned on their marketing machine and manipulated people into believing that their failure at trying to sell you out was actually some kind of corporate benevolence. There has never been anything further from the truth. Wave a dollar bill in front of Tim Cook and he’ll defile his grandmother’s corpse.
Everyone says Apple cares about privacy. Why is this even there?

If they cared less you wouldn’t even get the option
Google and Facebook do the same thing, doesn’t make them any more privacy friendly.
Google and Facebook don’t enforce these kinds of setting onto their internal apps
When you tell iOS to not share info with applications it actually doesn’t share that info with applications. Facebook sued Apple over this.
Look, I don’t worship Apple but it’s just wrong to say they aren’t wayyy more protective of privacy than almost everyone else

Edit; violating apples privacy rules subjected Facebook to legal liability (https://www.forbes.com/sites/kateoflahertyuk/2022/09/22/facebook-keeps-giving-users-more-reasons-to-delete-their-accounts/)

Apple may block third party from accessing your info, but they won’t block themselves from doing the exact same thing Google does.
Apple collects information sure but it’s nowhere near as much as Google does and this is verifiable.
None of these companies are good but Apple is by far the least bad when it comes to respecting your privacy
Not true. They’re required by law.

GDPR Article 7:
There are 2 reasons a big corporation will ever do anything:
Make number go up
Avoid number going down due to bad PR, government fines, etc.
This probably falls under #2.
Apple does sell privacy. They market it as a feature.
And their hardware sales margins are hilarious.
So in this case they do have some incentive for privacy/security.
They do even better - they sell the idea of privacy. Then they’re free to double dip.
Or triple dip if selling in a place like China.
