Love the games, but they are awful at naming this series
This trailer was so wild that at some point there was actual fucking for like 3 seconds and my mind was like “ayoo they fucking,” then skulls started popping out of some cysts on a live mans burning sacrifice and my mind forgot so quickly there was literally just sex on the screen at the video game awards.
Ohh, so that’s why I was unable to watch it, YouTube wanted me to sign in, but fuck that.
This was played live during the game awards??
On the big screen on stage, yup
Live and in color.
EDIT: Didn’t even realize the trailer was the OP.
It was so wild that I didn’t even notice the sex until my second watch
That was a wildddddddd trailer reveal.
Reminded me of the brutal quality of the older Diablo reveals
Report: Novel Disease Outbreak Following Death of Burning Man Performer
I just finished D:OS2 (again) last night. Perfect timing.
I was waiting for Nicolas Cage to yell “Not the bees”.
I was not expecting this because they mentioned their next game is going to be scifi. Idk if that was a red herring or what.
I thought that’s too gruesome but then I saw it was Divinity and that’s about appropriate amount of violence for the series. I’m not sure if it’s the best way to market the game however.
I dont know, I felt like it was more fitting for Diablo. Watching this trailer I thought:
-
Wow I can’t believe they were actually allowed to show that on YouTube.
-
It seems like Larian is making a lot of changes with the tone of Divinity.
Its interesting, but was definitely not what I would personally expect from Divinity.
Divinity has always been pretty gruesome. Maybe the bad graphics shielded the viewer of the grim reality, but the reality was pretty freaking grim.
Please note that this is a continuation of the divinity series, not divinity original sin. The divinity series are much, much older games and play like an arpg, the look like Diablo 1.
Idk if they want to change it into turn based given their success in that field, though.
the tone of Divinity
Have you forgotten Braccus Rex’s funhouse in Fort Joy? If Larian had had the technology, I’m sure it would’ve been close to the trailer’s tone.

Idk, im definitely interested in it now. Can’t wait to see what type of game it is.
The game’s press kit has a few hints. Sounds like a similar RPG style as Larian’s last few games, the question is what kind of combat.
I’m curious too. Original Sin/OS2 are really tight turn based strategy games (with D:OS2 being the best game Larian has ever made IMO (sorry BG3 fans)), but Divinity II was an ARPG, and I would not mind seeing a Larian with actual resources trying their hand at it again.
D:OS2 being the best game Larian has ever made IMO (sorry BG3 fans)),
A person of culture with a bold and hot take. I respect it.
See, I like the BG3 combat better.
Magic physical split was not good for me and too many environmental damage elements at every battle
Bold, hot, and entirely correct.
Ehhhh the game is good but it’s not without problems. The prison area drags on for too long. The fact that there’s a hidden optional fight that can one shot kill your whole party because you’re extremely under leveled was annoying as fuck. Locking magic as a plot device for the first 30 hours of the playthrough really sucked. The mandatory cheesing of some fights was annoying.
I like the game and go back to it every once in a while but BG3 is miles better IMO.
Gets people talking about it more, I guess.
Well, that was some shit. Guess I’ll have to get round to playing the first two.
