Every other year in choir, we would perform “A Visit from Saint Nicholas” (more widely known as “'Twas the Night Before Christmas.”)
The off years, we’d do Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” … which was about as jarring as one would expect, with the added value of having to sing in Old English. Latin, sure, that’s what one does in choir.
I get where you went with that, as I, too, was alive in the '90s.
