I’m currently in a part of the world were labor is pretty cheap so it didn’t cost me much.

One of the reasons given as to why GrapheneOS is not available for the Fairphone is because the end user cannot lock the bootloader.

I just replaced the battery on my pixel 7 and I’m asking myself the same. I use my phone for fewer tasks than you. Calls and messages only.

As far as smartphones go the pixels aren’t so bad if you ignore the endemic battery issues that have affected every pixel device from the 4a up…

2. I was talking about mainstream shit but I wasn’t thinking about him per se. More so commonly watched movies, TV shows and the manner in which the news presents certain people and parts of the world. I’ve never seen his content.

It may be made for games but it’s a more tolerable desktop experience than a fully fledged Windows PC.

Which features/functions are “missing”?

Only there’s a desktop mode that is easily accessible and opens up the device for all manner of uses.

Windows games used to run better on wine 15 years ago and Windows bloat/telemetry has only gotten worse since then.

I’ve been playing Switch games just fine on my SD. Currently enjoying Fire Emblem Engage which runs flawlessly, Three Houses also runs well. The same is true for many (most?) of the Switch library. I already have a 3DS but the Steam Deck can handle those games too. Likewise NDS games. I only play a handful of games from each system. It’s convenient to have my entire game library on one device, especially on the road.

I use my Steam Deck primarily for emulation, especially Nintendo IP. NDS, 3DS, N64, Gamecube, Switch. It’s the best Nintendo device that I’ve ever owned and it hasn’t been bricked or even threatened with such.

Tell that to Nintendo and their fans.

I would expect surface level nationalism from a right winger and Google is very much a foreign interest in Germany.

People are still falling for this schtick?

They might want American made, they just can’t afford it.
