There was some talk awhile back about openning up the TLDs to allow things like “dot”
I would love http://dot.dot/

Holding power + volume down brings up the power menu Pressing power + volume down takes a screenshot
Though other comments point out that there isn’t any consistency between manufacturers

As others have said Samsung has been like this for a while so they may be copying it from there.
If its the same as Samsung, holding power + volume down should bring up the power menu.
I actually like the button being mappable to something else, gives me more options, I do think they should have the default be the old behaviour though, maybe with a popup on the first activation to tell you that you can change it.
I have mine set to Bixby so I can quickly set timers and reminders without needing the always on voice detection, double press opens camera.
More options and customisation possibilities is always better, but using it to force another peoduct is scummy :(

Is it the Beck sample from Windows ME: https://archive.org/details/beck_20240419
Edit:
If you scroll down the page there are links to other Windows versions’ music sample packs, might be worth browsing around.

The company and the lenders can get fucked.
They’ve caused immesurable damage and want to get away without any consequences.
All utilities should be nationalised ASAP and the people currently running them into the ground should loose out we shouldn’t be bailing out their bad investments.
Yes, roast chicken, usually beef though.
Do this every week.

This is what I was saying to someone a couple of weeks ago when Musk was talking about liberating the UK.
They don’t need to invade us, they’re already here.
I’ve thought about doing this myself but my GMail account is so ingrained in everything I don’t think I’d be able to untangle the mess.
Are there any big issues you see coming up with doing this, long standing accounts not letting you change email, etc?
Do you plan on keeping the old account around for a period to catch any services you might have forgotten about?
Be interesting to see a follow-up once you’re done to see what kind of pain it causes.

For anyone who wants the same info without the ads see: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Proton-Versions
And for proton-ge: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom?tab=readme-ov-file#overview
Proton-sarek: https://github.com/pythonlover02/Proton-Sarek
The only reason for the article to exist is to have an excuse to serve ads.

The article has one sentence on using older versions for better compatability with some games.
The rest of the article is basically summed up by “bigger number means newer”
The whole article seemed very surface level and didn’t really give any more info than could be derived from the names of the versions. As for the community forks mentioned people could find much better info just looking at the readme.
Maybe I’m just too technical but it just feels to me as pointless as an article explaining the difference between hot and cold taps on a sink.
Edit: fix autocorrect

Have we really hit the point where we have to explain versioning to people now.

I use the community maintained docker container from https://github.com/nextcloud/docker
It’s separate containers for all the services, if you scroll down the readme you’ll find the compose file they recommend to start you out.

The material your pads are made out of can significantly affect this. I swapped from leather pads to suede and I find the new ones far warmer than the old but that doesn’t bother me.
If you can experiment with different pads you might find something that works for you.
Though be warned that the material can also affect the house cancelling performance so you have decided on that compromise too.

That makes a lot of sense, I hadn’t considered that business sellers would still be charged.

Any info out there on how they actually plan on making money going forwards?
The article talks about other platforms charging a fee to buyers instead but mentions nothing about eBay introducing this.
Are they really making enough from ads on the site and vehicles to replace the lost revenue?

Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt

They should still be charged if the wrong amount of postage has been paid.
So if you send what royal mail count as a large letter but with a normal stamp instead of a large letter stamp they will be fined and charged the difference in postage.

In addition to features for migrating communities and accounts I think the ability to set up a special type of instance that just archives everything from all the instances it’s federated to would be a huge benefit.
Something along the lines of an instance that doesn’t allow new content to be created, only consumed. This way if an instance were to permanently close we could migrate it’s communities to other instances from the archive.
This could also extend to migration of lost accounts, though ensuring the original account holder is the one making a request could become a nightmare of an overhead. The situation could be improved though if lemmy got some sort of feature for linking accounts across multiple instances.

My wife added ABBA’s Dancing Queen to our driving playlist for our first long trip. Silence into a deafening piano slide half way through the drive was an interesting way to nearly die from shock.
Another vote for immich here, works great and let’s me shade albums with other accounts on my server.
