Swords are already banned for the most part. As those mirrors would puncher and sometimes kill people hit. They were banned at some 0oint in the 80s. Sp even cars a cidently designed in a way that is unsafe. Are banned from production. And that is in the US as well.
Banning the weapon is extremely likely to stop the next rando attack, and the next one and the next one and the next one…
