Can’t believe how good it tasted!
Microwave that stuff to eliminate all of the silk, it most of it
Husk and all, straight on the grill, lets it steam in the husk. Cut off the knob end, squeeze from the other, and the entire corn will come out sans husk and silk.
I don’t cook them any other way now.
I do soak them in some salted water before, rehydrates the husk if they’re dried from storage so they don’t just catch on fire and provides moisture for the cooking.
huh? we just throw it straight on the grill after trimming the husk. turn it every seven minutes, after 21 total it’s probably done (if not, definitely after 28). I’m convinced it tastes cornier.
We leave the husk on, cut off the knob and the ear slides right out without anything else.
Soaking the corn in cold water for like 10 mins before microwaving makes the silk slide off even easer and keeps the kernels super juicy!
but the water lets all the corn out of the corn
But pan frying the silk is a nice crispity garnish!
It’s still there, when you pull off the husk the silk comes right with it. Then pan fry! Which I’ve never tried, will add it next time
Interesting, will be trying this, thanks!
Nice tip! Thanks.
Looks fantastic!
Thanks, I was pleased with it. Hopefully the rest are as successful!
there’s nothing like an ear fresh off the stalk. looks fantastic
Fresh as it can get! Money can’t buy that taste!
I’d visit the farm about a month a year growing up, before my g-grandparents sold it to move into town. gampy’d grow feed corn for the cattle so he could save a little, and when it was ripe we’d just pluck 'em off the field a few minutes before we were ready to cook. shittiest corn, but coming straight off the stalk it was better than anything I can find at a grocery store now.
Very nice! Home grown veg is like home brewed coffee in that regard, a poor home made one is better than a good shop bought one!
Now you need the Cob Quicky !
Love it!
