I’m hearing everyone come out and condemn this thing which is apparently “hate speech” and how apparently terrible it was for the BBC to continue broadcasting it (I don’t think they did anything wrong- they were broadcasting a real life event). I understand the upset at kneecap (like supporting Hezbollah and talking about killing MPs) but I don’t know how chanting “Death to the IDF” is hate speech- it’s not even necessarily calling for death to humans, could be directed towards wanting to disband the organisation.

I don’t know why the media and politicians are making such a big deal over it. It feels like they are trying to tell us how awful it was that these people said this thing and that we should apparently be outraged. Or maybe it’s just me. I think there are worse things going on in the world… particularly within the geographical piece of land variously known as Israel/Palestine/Canaan…

I’m probably banned from entering the USA now

    This is manufactured consent.

The media want you to think everyone is outraged, the owners of the media are rich and want their rich friends who also run the country and went to the same private schools and clubs to keep making money selling British weapons and planes to Israel to bomb children.

So you have to be told to think thousands of people chanted for death to an organization that is killing children is a bad thing and the govt starving an entire population is the good guys.

Personally I think it’s fantastic and long overdue. Hating genociders is finally “cool” and I am 100% here for it.

Has anyone ever blinked an eye for the quarter of a million dead Russian Soldiers invading Ukraine? No, in fact we cheer for Ukraine to get rid of all of them in any way possible right?

    Well IDF is worse.

The difference is that the IDF is comprised of Jewish military personnel and for “some” reason, these days you aren’t allowed to criticize any actions from anyone with said heritage.

      It’s stupid, really.

If you’re an asshole, I will call you an asshole. Being Jewish has nothing to do with that equation

Right now, the Israeli government and the IDF are engaged in a genocide. Period. Them being Jewish, I don’t care. Right now these fuckers are literally no different from the Nazi army and, you know, Nazis. The worst thing of all, i guess, is that the irony of Jews acting like Nazis is completely lost on these fuckers. If at least they’d realize what they have become, maybe it could baseball bat smack some sense into their heads, but no.

Criticizing a Jewish military officer for committing genocide is the same as committing genocide on Jews. Or something. I don’t know, don’t ask me, it just doesn’t make any sense.

I guess this can be best summed up with “fuck all religions” because at the core this is just religion being used yet again to fuck over some group of people." Without religion, most people suddenly aren’t so happy to blow up little children, but with?

Our God said its okay!" is all the excuse the Nazis needed and its the same excuse that the extremist Israelis use to support their child murderers.

literally no different from the Nazi army

You either are badly informed about the Nazis or the war in Gaza. Look up the siege of Leningrad just as a minor example. Half of the 3 million inhabitants died over the course of three years. 65 thousand died in Gaza over a similar time frame. These are not remotely the same.

Stay on topic brother, an army of a real country full of real people are doing the genocide. Not a religion. The reasons are irrelevant as there can be no justification for genocide.

Yep, them being jewish matters exactly 0. Even bringing it up is literally just an attempt to muddy the waters, and as such it’s the simplest way to find out who supports genocide.

I’d never heard of Bob Vylan before this kicked off. They are actually pretty good. But I think the main outrage is from the tabloids who are gleefully attacking the BBC over it.

Couldn’t agree more. The politicians are only outraged as their donors are pissed. They couldn’t give a shit what happens as long as they get re-elected

An MP just made the argument that “Death to the IDF” equates to support for those killing the IDF, i.e. Hamas. Not sure that’s watertight logic myself.

After seeing what isreal is doing, Hamas doesnt seem so bad. The only thing I heard about them to begin with was that they launched a supposedly unprovoked attack on isreali citizens and kidnapped several. Well, in retrospect, yeah, kinda seems jusitifed.

I don’t actually support Hamas, I just don’t know anything about them. But at this point I know theyre fighting isreal so that makes them at least not the worst people involved in this conflict.

Hamas and the IDF are joint worst people involved in this conflict. As usual it’s the regular people who suffer. For the current Israeli regime and for Hamas, it’s the conflict that matters. Both would evaporate if confronted with real peace.

Hamas is a fundementalist Islamist group. Their charter states the role of women is to raise men, and rejects notions of sexual equality as being introduced by foreign “saboteurs”. It also runs through the boring old antisemitic tropes with claims that Jews were the instigators of the French Revolution, WWI and Russian Revolution, and that Jews control the UN. It also claims that the “Jewish plan” is contained within the hoax The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Hamas enforces strict sharia law. As such, they torture and kill homosexuals, even if they’re their own decorated commanders. Some Hamas members raped male Israeli hostages before themselves being tortured and executed for the crime (not the rape)

It rejects secularism and intends for a Palestinian state to be governed by strict adherence to Islamist laws.

Also, I legit feel like most people who are on the free Palestine movement are doing because its cool, its hip, they don’t actually want to do anything about Palestine they just need to be seen as the right side to their peers.

Me on the other hand? I could care less what people think of, and don’t got time to worry about Palestine. I got bigger issues at home.

              are doing because its cool

Yeah, I want the world to save lives because I want to be “cool.” I’m 44yo. I have no interest in being cool at my age. I’ve been through that phase of my life and came out with a bunch of fun stories about almost dying or almost going to jail.

Children are being slaughtered. That’s the motivation. Change your username. You are riding the “this is cool” train more than the rest of us. The rest of us give a shit.
