Yeah, I passed one of these “milestone” dates a while back and as a rub-it-in gesture they sent me a letter saying:
Dear Sir, As you’re old now, please come in and have a checkup before you keel over and cause us to have to come get you.
Ta,
The Local Executive
and cause us to have to come get you.
Ambulance waiting times may exceed 90 minutes. Please call an Uber.
Dang, they could have worded that more delicately.
Ad walled, so didn’t read - you can just go to your GP and ask for a check up any time though, no need to wait for 40!
Nice in theory, but I phoned my GP four years ago and I’m still on hold. I’m number 23,641 in the queue. My call is very important to them.
Except that isn’t true for me.
I have very rarely visited the doctors in my life as I am generally healthy, this year I went in for something and asked if I could book a general check up for things like blood pressure etc. You know, just to be sure as I never go in. They literally told me no.
Cool, thanks for helping me be proactive and try and possibly save you guys time and money in the future!
Oh, that’s a shame.
Mine booked me in for blood tests and everything.
The over 40 one is a specific one with extra tests however so well worth it.
Is this the finger in the arse test?
Probably colonoscopy. More impersonal than a finger. But a whole lot more than a finger.
